New Image Tiles

Not everyone has the luxury of having a large bathroom, and small bathrooms can be more of a challenge to fit in everything you need. Do not despair – with clever storage ideas and the use of a good colour palette even the smallest of bathrooms can have illusions of grandeur.

Here are three small bathroom ideas to help you get the perfect look for your new bathroom.

Free up your floor and wall space

Vanity units come in all shapes and sizes with drawers and cupboards. To make your small bathroom look bigger use wall mounted units- this will reveal more floor area giving the illusion of a bigger space but you will have somewhere to put all the lotions and potions that can make your room look cluttered. The same principle applies to your ‘throne’- once again a wall mounted loo can give the illusion of a bigger floor area and gives a very modern, sleek look with wall mounted flush plate- and of course all the technical stuff is hidden away behind the wall. We have a huge selection of wall hung vanity units and w/c’s available to order next day. Or if you’re looking for a specific size, colour or finish we can make that for you in our Dorset based factory. Free up wall space by using electric underfloor heating under the tiles eliminating the need for radiators. Radiators can act like dust traps, spreading dust, pollen, and germs, causing major health problems for asthma and allergy sufferers. Underfloor heating reduces draughts and dries wet floors quickly, reducing the moisture dust mites need to survive, while maintaining a healthy level of humidity.

Clever storage solutions

Don’t forget there is plenty of storage space above ground level. Use towel radiators, wall mounted cabinets and shelving to create more storage, be creative and use baskets and crates and storage ladders or floating shelves to display glass jars filled with cotton balls and bath bombs and rolled towels and toilet rolls.

Showering is more popular today than ever and if you don’t have room for both bath and shower then think about a combination of them both and have a shower bath; the best of both worlds. Once again you can save on the footprint of your bathroom by not choosing a ‘P’ shaped shower bath and shortening the length from the most common 1700mm long to a 1600mm. For extra storage use the space under and around the bath with new and clever storage bath panels- every square inch counts in a small room, and it keeps the ‘clutter’ out of sight.

At New Image, we have lots of small bathroom ideas. We can supply storage solutions, vanity units and fitted furniture in bespoke sizes which means that you can maximise storage space even in the most awkward of spaces.  We can even supply bespoke bath panels which can be colour coordinated to suit your furniture, tiles or paint choices.

Choose your colour scheme

Small bathroom ideas which involve a complimentary colour scheme from the start are nearly always successful. There are clever tricks with colour and shape to help make a small room look even bigger. So once all the necessary bits have been chosen then the fun part can start- what colour?

A neutral colour palette will generally be calming and aesthetically pleasing- choosing whites, creams and greys as the base colour will open up the look and feel of the room and will always look clean and fresh and won’t date. Introduce accents of colour, pattern and texture with décor tiles, listellos and mosaics to add depth and creativity. Then comes the fun part where you can inject colour with vibrant towels, bath mats, posh soaps and accessories- these are the least expensive things to change and if you do change them your bathroom will look brand new all over again but keep your knick-knack’s  to a minimum to avoid a cluttered look. Remember that rectangular tiles laid landscape will give the illusion of receding walls and make the room look larger, whereas if tiles are laid portrait the height of the room will be emphasised- so decide which you want enhance.

At New Image, we can offer sample tiles to take away before you make your final choices so you can be 100% confident that your tiles will achieve the look you want.

Tiled bathroom floors are practical and easy to maintain and keep clean and the more of it you can see the larger the room will look. A light floor colour will make the room appear airier but a dark floor would add interest and visual impact.
