What is a Bath Screen?

A bath screen is a wall-mounted glass panel that sits over the edge of the bathtub. They are typically used in conjunction with shower baths, to prevent water splashing onto the floor. Bath screens are an excellent alternative to dated shower curtains. They are easy to clean, durable and reduce the amount of heat being let out into the bathroom.

At New Image we only sell bath screens from leading manufacturers, including Phoenix and Merlyn. These high quality bath screens are made from toughened glass and are available to purchase in a variety of thicknesses. Some have been treated with special chemicals that contain water repellent properties.

Bath Screen Ranges

Bath screens typically come in a range of styles and finishes to compliment your interior design preferences. Most are available with left or right-hand hinges to suit the configuration of your bathroom and maximise available space. Bath screens with minimal fittings are also available to give your space a sleek and effortless look.

Bi-fold Bath Screens

Bi-fold shower screens are similar to bi-fold doors that you might find elsewhere in the house. They contain two panels with a hinge in the middle, which allows the screen to be opened from either side. Bi-fold screens are an excellent choice in smaller bathrooms because they fold into themselves. If you choose a bifold door, you do not need to worry about door clearance as you would for a door that swings.

Pivot Bath Screens

Pivot bath screens are attached to the bath via a pivoting hinge, which allows the door to swing inwards and outwards. This wide range of motion aids cleaning and allows for easy access when getting into the shower bath.

Pivot bath screens are an excellent choice for people with mobility issues or families with young children.

Folding Bath Screens

Folding bath screens are similar to bi-fold fold screens, in that they fold into themselves to create more space. The only difference is that they contain multiple hinged panels.

Having multiple panels can create an eye-catching feature in your bathroom, especially if you choose a bold finish such as black or brushed brass. They’re also an excellent choice if space saving is a priority. They can be pushed against a wall when not in use creating a more pleasant bathing experience.

Folding bath screens typically cover a greater portion of the bath when fully extended, which is great for keeping water contained. They are an excellent choice for families with young children that may splash whilst they bathe!

Hinged Bath Screens

Hinged bath screens are a traditional option – the bath screen attaches to the wall and opens via a hinge that allows the screen to swing open like a door. Hinged bath screens can typically be opened inwards and outwards. This allows for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Straight Bath Screens

A straight bath screen comprises of a single sheet of glass panel that extends along the length of the path. These can be fixed in place or hinged.

The straight option is excellent choice for modern and minimalist bathrooms.
